reality-check : re to my post yesterday*

01.29.04 (8:52 pm)   [edit]
As I realised that I had such a strong point of view about that singer/ cock-fighting activist on the issue of killing the cocks and birds within 5 kilometers radius from the weekend market in Chatuchak. It had come to me yesterday after i watch the tv show, and of course there are many people that go against this health safety measure.

Should we kill the innocent animals?

I mean at some point it's not so fair to kill thousands of thousands of birds and cocks in this area without any test on the poor creatures. Many lives definitely lost.

Somebody please gimme reality check on this.

Bangkok Avian Flu Crisis*

01.29.04 (3:01 am)   [edit]
It's been a while when this kingdom had come to the realisation of the avain flu presence since the first victim died a couple of days before.

From th every first time that people had heard of this disease, Thai Goverment came out to say that there was no such thing in this country. Look what's really happened right now.

So now people keep talking about this deadly disease all the time. Even in my office, honestly I love eating chicken and i haven't been eating one bite of chicken meat since last week. Anyway, now the Bangkok City Hall came out and mde an announcement yesterday about the presence of the contaminted specimen that they met in Bangkok area after the prior announcement in upcountry.

There were 2 areas in the high alert of the avian flu disease, one is Bung Kum and the other one is Chatuchak. Well unfortunately my office is located in Chatuchak area. Hmmm. Don't panic, I told myself that.

Well, there is one thing about Thai people that I always tell people why I don't like Thai people much and it's because (some of ) them are so melodramatic. and what is it gotta do with this bird flu?

There is a sort-of-folksong singer, Add Carabao (he also has his own caffeined drink) ,bad luck that he lives in Chatuchak area and posesses a fighting cock. According to to the goverment agency that takes care of this situation announcement said that every birds, chickens or whatever in this category which lives within 5 Kilometers from the center where they first met the contaminated specimen must be killed.

Well, well, well, thing is Add is one of the leading activists who's trying so hard to make this disgusting so-called sport "fighting cock" becoming legal. So after there was an announcement to kill every avain creature killing, he jumped out and protest. I know that his rooster has soul too, but what if it's a carrier. what if that cock of his or rooster or whatever just one that has the dealy disease and could get away, the whole prevention thing that they have been trying so hard to archieve might be useless. What if...

Anyway, end of the story. But if you wanna know more here is the link to the piece of news from The Bangkok Post.

The Legendary Naked Fishermen of Baan Phe

01.26.04 (7:21 am)   [edit]
It was one ordinary weekend like it's supposed to be. Two men met by appointment, one is Thai and another is foreigner. They planed their hideaway to the tropical island of Koh Samed.

The city of Baan Phe is a lovely small town but filled with tourists from all over the world, from local people to whatever country you can imagine.

The two acquaintants walked down the street to the pier where people waiting to get on the ferry. It was 2 p.m. and it was hot like hell even though it was aproaching winter already. Everybody was sweating. There were about 20 people at the end of the bridge in the little shed. Near by were the bridge where all of the merchants were gathering together to get the best fruit of the sea.

... ... ...

After a long while of ferry waiting, here came the love ferry. Like usual view of Thai people that almost never got in line. They hurried to get on the boat, anyway, two friends went to the back of the ferry where nobody walked there.

They were sweating still like the weather was getting up high and there was no wind blown at all. The ferry had to wait for more people loading. While that Thai and his foreigner friend gigled at some people sitting next to them. Suddenly Thai guy noticed something fishy was going on upon his eyes. The fishermen on their boat flating next to the next bridge gathering outsides on the deck and then took their shirts off and then their fisherman's pants.

Like something divine happened to the couples' eyes, The foreigner was stunned and jawdropping by the amazing view. The fishermen finally watering themselves and each others. They were soaping their hot lean bodies on the back and in the front without any concern of people might be staring at their homoerotic behaviour.

It was hotter, raunchier and of course fishier than almost every porno you might have seen in your entire life.

The ferry was finally set to the sea where men and women mingle together, Thais and foriegners on this Temptation Island of Koh Samed. And on the Lucky day the Legendary Naked Fishermen of Koh Samed would come back to life again.

The Curse of the Mermaid

01.21.04 (12:45 am)   [edit]
It is said that there is a viciuos curse on the island of Koh Samed. Whoever gets close to the mermaid statute on this island with his/her love one, no more than three weeks guarantee that his/her relationship will be terminated by whatsoever. The closer you get to her, the worst it would be. Don't even mention staring into her eyes. Good enough that she doesn't turn your heart into stone.

Rayong is a home to the world reknown poet : Sunthornphu. He was accredited by the UNESCO to be accknowledge as The people of the World. Anyway, He'd written a saga about an abducted prince who was falling in love with a mermaid but their path to romance was not that easy coz a the prince was grounded by a big ugly female giant who desperately loved him. Anyway, the prince tried to escape the living hell by the assistance of the mermaid but on the way out in the sea from the island, the giant followed and father and mother mermaid had come to rescue the prince and the mermaid had sacrificed herself to stop the giant but it was fertile, her death couldn't stop the giant but good enough to prolong the time assuring the prince safety. The giant was in a very great grief but never stoped following him till the prince had to use his magical flute and his melody got into the broken heart of the sad giant and ultimately she died.

Is this curse really exist or it's just people saying - I kept asking myself since i heard this from the friend I met on the island last weekend. Some of me felt that it's true, the rest of me think that it might be just coincident. hmm...what do you think?

Koh Samed Revisit

01.20.04 (1:03 am)   [edit]
Since I cancelled the trip to Angkhor Wat earlier around New Year Holiday, it's time for me to go out of the city for a while and this time I choose to go to my favourite island of Koh Samed.

It's my first time to spend holiday by myself cos everybody was busy with themself, so why bother...

After 4 hours on the bus finally I arrived in Baan Phe to get on the bus heading to Koh Samed. It's full of local tourists at that time. I was surprised, I though that it would be empty cos next Thursday is Chinese New Year and probably people will go out and spend a lot of Baht around the country. But maybe i was wrong.

Anyway, back to my favourite island, surprisingly that almost every bungalow was full of tourist even the one I though that it would be empty, my secret garden. Probably it's not a secret anymore. But luckily i met the group of people i met on the first time i came to this island. They playfully offered me to stay with them, in case that I couldn't find any room to stay. After long wandering from beaches to beaches to find a room to stay I finally decide to go back to my secret garden to see if their offer still stood. and after I was there they offered it again. This time I playfully took it.

The very first minute I arrived at teh island , I asked myself if this idea of spending holidy by myself alone would be good or bad idea after all. Until this point I think it was one of the best decision i made. It was amasingly fun, full of laugh kind of something i had longed for.

First I ran into a group of someone I met then one of the people in the group met another friend of his, staying at the place we all wanted to stay, with his friend. So now it was six of us and it became a kind of big entertainment. We spent time eating, chatting, et cetra together. My favourite part was that when we had dinner together on Sunday night when we talked about "Thai guy VS White guy" and so on. It's one of my life mission to reveil this hidden agenda between both side of the men.

It's kind of relief to me that there might be good people out there somewhere (for... :P )

Bangkok International Film Festival 2004

01.15.04 (8:11 pm)   [edit]
Ohhhh, it's been a very haed working year for me so far as the international film festival in Bangkok is coming up next week and there are bunches of films that my company bought to show here in Thailand. Well, i had hope before that the Talented-Mr.-Quentin could come here to Thailand with the leading actress, Uma. Unfortunately that he hasn't finished the post production yet so he cancelled everything here. Bummer.

Anyway, there will be a lot interesting movie to be shown at the festival. Like 21 Grams, In America, Japanese Story, Lost in Translation, Cold Mountain, Osama, Sexual Dependency, and a lot more.

It's probably one good thing to work in the entertainment business that i can watch the movie that i like probably earlier before it hits the theatre.

Oh! By the way, The Lord of the Rings : The Return of the King has become the highest gross movie last year approximately a lil much more than Spiderman. So it becomes the second highes gross movie of all time here in Thailand. You know which movie is the highest grossing of all time. Yep, it's that sinking liner, Titanic.

Anyway, The Bangkok International Film Festival 2004 will be held here in Bangkok, The grand opening is at Scala Theatre right in the heart of the city. They expect pop stars from all over the world to walk the red carpet. If I'm correct i think that Time-CNN is the partner of this event. The Festival is from January 22nd - Febuary 2nd. And Expect that 21 Grams will be the movie to close the festival.

Belated Happier New Year, Bowling and Karaoke Singing

01.06.04 (9:26 pm)   [edit]
It's been a kind of strange feeling that i'm quite disturbingly happy after all this drama of New Year party, finally i managed to survive the flood of everybody joy and happiness assumed that something they really meant.

It's been a kind of strange feeling that we'll have belated new year party (again) but this time we'll do it differently. We'll go bowling and do karaoke singing instead. After the rehersal last sunday I realised that it's quite fun and be a good time killing activity as well.

Well, I quite enjoy the atmoshere in my office right now that everybody seems to be so attached to this event. It's fun and many people aim high for the very 1st prize. Who said that having fun is all about losing money ;-p

:D

Hope Everybody Have Happier New Year.
